Thought Adjuster: "Many of those who are still in a spiritual slumber entertain the derisive opinion that those of spiritual inclinations are ‘way-out-there’— ‘spaced out’ and lacking practical skills because they, supposedly, are out of touch with reality.

It is contested by those who lead authentic spiritual lives. Indeed, spiritual ‘living’ has everything to do with your down-to-earth existence. How could it be any different? Spiritual living implies that you base your decisions on the moral standards consistent with the Father’s Will. “The will of God is the way of God, partnership with the choice of God in the face of any potential alternative.” [UB 130:2:7]

What could have prompted a Son of God to incarnate as a Son of Man if it were not to exemplify the practicality and effectivity of a material living driven by spiritual insights? Let it sink in for a moment.

In the Fifth Epochal Revelation of The Urantia Book, celestial beings who witnessed it first-hand, depict in great detail the life and teachings of Jesus, unlike the New Testament that only partially covers about 28 days of His eventful life--some of it by hearsay.

The Son of Man did not elect to be a religious figure. He chose to be part of the ordinary folks who had to make a living. He enjoyed learning new crafts and excelled at all of them: His mother, Mary, taught Him how to weave. His father, Joseph, introduced Him to carpentry and woodworking. Jesus became an expert craftsman in all types of media: iron, leather, and tarp. He built boats and improved upon their design; He was a skilled fisherman, a tutor, an interpreter, a scribe; a caravan’s leader; a tent-maker, and more.

Is that the portrait of a man out of touch with reality? It should put to rest the preconceived idea that spiritual individuals cannot function in this world. In fact, they are those who operate optimally, as they are in touch with their Higher Self, who assists them in making decisions that contribute to a successful life in the Eyes of the Father, Its Architect."
