Thought Adjuster: "The thought came to your mind that your inner child cohabitates with your inner grown-up.  It will be forever so because the purity of the inner child has to be dearly guarded by the street-smarter adult, just as it should occur in the outer world.

“Children should be allowed to roam free within certain safety parameters—their first friendly neighborhood, where they can let their imagination stage a ‘make-believe’ world, often emulating the way of life of their elders and under their benevolent watch care.

“Your inner child stands for the purity and idealism of who you are.  It is the part of you that will forever be ‘childlike,’ thus getting unrestricted access to the heart of Christ.  Jesus loved to play with the little ones.  He was a ‘big brotherlike’ figure to them and their self-appointed protector.

“He will always speak up in favor of your inner child—your purest connection to the Kingdom of Heaven, as it remains unphased by the bitter disappointments and disillusionment of its older and battle-weary alter ego.

“You would greatly benefit from paying closer attention to your inner child.  It needs you to flourish.  Certainly, there are times during your day when you need to put on your grown-up cap to make decisions in the best interest of your inner child.  However, there should be times of recreation and relaxation when you foster the thriving of your uninhibited, inquisitive, trusting, and naturally joyous self.  Those times are when your inner child takes the lead, and your inner grown-up joins in the game of ‘Follow the Leader.’  Indeed, Jesus quoted the scriptures to say: “Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings you have perfected praise.”
