“[Woman] failed to get social recognition during primitive times because she did not function in an emergency; she was not a spectacular or crisis hero.” [UB 84:3:3]

Thought Adjuster: “Today is the celebration of Memorial Day in the United States—a respectful commemoration of those who gave their lives to preserve national and personal liberties.  By enlisting in the military forces, these individuals well knew of the harsh demands it may place on their lives.  They were willing to prioritize the national highest good, with the understanding that their sacrifices would benefit their loved ones.

“Such was the attitude espoused by Jesus Christ in his life in the flesh.  The armies He pledged allegiance to were the spiritual forces intent at liberating the spiritual captives, thus lifting their spirits by instilling hope in their lives.  He willingly went the way of the cross for the sake of humankind.

“The sacrifices that matter spring from the heart—not from an intellectual sense of obligation.  What colors any action is its underlying intention.  The casual bystanders may misinterpret it, but it is crystal clear to the One who closely monitors your thought processes and the fluctuations registered on your emotional barometer.

“Wouldn’t you wish for your memory to be cherished?  If you sincerely pursue the manifestation of enduring values, you will weave a shining thread in the colorful tapestry of planetary life.  There are many unsung heroes among you—those who make moral choices when nobody is watching.  Take pride in belonging to this category.  On the day of your Homecoming, you will be celebrated by those who witnessed firsthand the integrity with which you conducted your life.”
