“It is not possible to respect yourself more than you love your neighbor; the one is the measure of the capacity for the other.”  [UB 156:5]

Thought Adjuster: “Love and Respect are an item.  Indeed, if you do not respect your loved ones, you do not truly love them.  As well, how can you respect yourself if you treat others unlovingly?

“How often do you talk down to yourself?  Why?  It occurs when you come short of your expectations or of what you think others expect from you.  “You are not good enough” is NEVER what God whispers into your heart but ‘you are much better than that.”.

“There is a vast difference between these two comments.  The first one is a very discouraging affirmation while the second one is an encouraging prompt.  Indeed, the Father knows the abilities He bestowed upon you.  He knows that each one of you is ‘eternity material.’  Not only does He love you but He also respects you—starting with your decisions.  No matter how misguided and short-sighted they may be, He ‘honors’ your free will privilege.

“When you take others into account in the manner you live your life, any feelings of guilt for not doing enough or shame for not living up to your expectations dissipate.  Doesn’t it validate the fact that you exist to be of higher service and that, whenever you fulfill this God-given assignment, you live up to His expectations and that fills you with a sense of righteous self-respect?

“Dear ones, if you lack in self-respect, follow the ‘love currency.’  Where do you invest it?  Where do you find it?  By trading in love, you will earn respect as a dividend—the respect of your peers and self-respect.”
