“Prayer has been the ancestor of much peace of mind, cheerfulness, calmness, courage, self-mastery, and fair-mindedness in the men and women of the evolving races.”  [UB 998:03]

Thought Adjuster: “There is so much to share about Prayer.  This is a topic that should be constantly revisited, as it consists of ever-deepening layers of understanding as well as of practice.  How so?

“Let us use an onion as a metaphor for this inner process.  There is much more to this bulb than its paper-thin skin, and yet, even this outer layer is rich in the healing nutrient known to you as quercetin, a plant pigment that works wonders against respiratory ailments.

“I would further venture to compare ‘group prayers’ to the process of releasing spiritual quercetin—a ‘social’ binder that fights the sense of divisiveness and isolation among those who ‘come together’ in worshipful prayer.  Thus doing, they are centering themselves as a group, around their divine common Core, simultaneously acknowledging the Fatherhood of God and the Brotherhood of Man.

“Yet, prayer goes much deeper than its social aspect.  It affects your very core.  A deep prayer life is sincere, genuine, truthful, authentic, honest, spontaneous, and so much more.  As you can see from these qualifiers, it has to be in alignment with the truth of your being and its expression.  It is a private and very confidential moment of sharing with your divine Indweller and the highest spiritual influences you invite into your life.

“As well, prayer has a grounding power.  It pulls you within when everything is chaotic around you, causing you to fall prey to doubt, anxiety, or any difficult emotions.  How so?  Because, it takes you to the core of your being—the very center of the metaphoric onion.  This center is where resides the Divine Peace.  Isn’t it so that the depth of a body of water remains relatively calm while its surface is being relentlessly battered by raging winds and heavy rainfalls?

“Therefore, whenever you are emotionally deprived of ‘peace of mind, cheerfulness, calmness, courage, self-mastery, and fair-mindedness’ should be your cue to dive deep within and connect with your very personal Advisor.  Confide in Him and you will start feeling better, having honestly shared your inner turmoil.  When you are done speaking, LISTEN!  Listen to His Peace, as the forthcoming answer will ALWAYS be wrapped in such a fragrant and delicious substance, which has full powers to soothe your aching soul.

Do not forget about this powerful resource.  It is only one of the many miracles that prayer can bring forth in your life, positively affecting others as well.”
